The increasing quality demands of stakeholders within the automotive supply chain apply not only to product quality, but also to the corresponding manufacturing and information security processes.

The presentation begins with a history of the TS 16949 and ISO 27001 standards and a description of their essential requirements. In addition, their common requirements for the management process and the reciprocal effect of the two management systems are explained in more detail.

The qualitative and quantitative benefits of implementing the management systems in accordance with these standards is also covered. Cost and time savings potentials of a combined certification are also discussed. Finally, an example is presented of a method for a cost-effective evaluation of security management investments based on a modern statistical approach.
